Opera Holland Park - Messa di Gloria: Full cast and repertoire

Join us this month for a rare performance of Puccini's Messa di Gloria With tenor David Butt Philip, baritone Ross Ramgobin, conductor John Andrews, the Opera Holland Park chorus and City of London Sinfonia, Puccini's Messa di Gloria blends the solemnity of the Italian choral tradition with expressive melodies and motifs that would later reappear in operas from Edgar to Le Villi and Suor Angelica. The evening opens with a selection of music from throughout Puccini's life, including his only string quartet, Crisantemi (performed by the City of London Sinfonia string quartet), 'Morire?' (Phillip Costovski), 'E l'uccellino' (Eleanor Broomfield), 'Vissi d'arte' (Anna Patalong), 'Mentìa l'avviso' (Alison Langer) and 'O soave fanciulla' (Alison Langer and Joseph Buckmaster). Which dino features are better – horns, spikes or quills? Did T-rex actually have feathers? And how did some dinosaurs survive extinction?
Visit the new Dinosaur rEvolution exhibition and discover what dinosaurs really looked like. The show, making its premiere in the UK, features large animatronic models, fossil skeleton and skull casts, illustrations by the acclaimed artist Luis V Rey, dress up, games, and more.

Membership starts from just £40 and all fees directly support the ongoing care of our collections and Gardens.

A special early morning viewing of Dinosaur rEvolution for neurodivergent families or families who need a quieter environment when visiting. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.

Natural History Gallery closes 4 March
There are just a few more weeks to say 'au revoir' to the walrus. The Natural History Gallery will close from 4 March 2024 so that it can be fully renovated and redisplayed as part of our Nature + Love project. It will reopen in 2026, with the walrus still in pride of place!
