Whitechapel Gallery - Opening this week...Dominique White: Deadweight

Dear Friends,

Continuing our series of Summer exhibitions, opening this week is Deadweight, a new body of work from artist Dominique White, winner of the ninth Max Mara Art Prize for Women.

Weaving together concepts of Afrofuturism, Afro-pessimism and Hydrarchy,
Deadweight comprises four large-scale sculptural works which continue the artist’s interest in creating new worlds for ‘Blackness’ and fascination with the metaphoric potency and regenerative power of the sea.

Museum of Brands - SUMMER EXHIBITIONS 🖼️| Britain's Biggest Brands 2023 and Memory & Remedy

New Exhibition | Britain's Biggest Brands 2023

Open now until 19 October 2024

Now in its fourth year, this display reflects trends in the British public’s shopping habits in the last year. Although the top 10 has retained its big-hitters, with Cadbury, Coca-Cola and Walkers on the podium once again, the 2023 list saw a few newcomers joining the usual suspects, such as Silver Spoon, M&Ms, Ambrosia and Dolmio. The biggest jump was Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime, featured at number 64, a staggering 94 positions higher than the previous year.

The new display presents products in line with The Grocer's annual list, with data taken from NielsenIQ’s retail measurement service. Findings are from 02 January 2023 to 01 January 2024.

Entry is included with general admission ticket

As featured in The Guardian's guide to London’s best small museums, June 2024

"I would recommend this museum to anyone interested in design, branding, art, history, and English heritage. During our visit, my sister from Italy accompanied us, and she was captivated by the diverse range of objects on display, from Roman artefacts to Victorian, Edwardian, and more recent items from the 2000s. Very interesting!"
