A message from the Chair of Trustees,
Sir Nigel Carrington
As many of you will know, Mark Francis stepped down as Director in early March, after twelve years at Burgh House. We are delighted to announce Angela Doane as our new Director.

Angela joins us from a long career in museums and heritage properties. She has worked for the V&A, Royal Museums Greenwich, the British Film Institute, Central Saint Martins, and also as a freelancer with the National Trust and Imperial War Museums. Additionally, Angela is a long-term local resident. She says "I've known and visited Burgh House as a beautiful place and community hub for many years. It's a pleasure to help ensure it continues to be enjoyable, accessible, and preserved for everyone."

Please join us in welcoming Angela as part of the Burgh House team.

Exhibitions
'The Magic Fish' (1956), Marie-Louise von Motesiczky

Motesiczky’s vibrant expressionist paintings give presence to the rich everyday lives of women as friends, lovers, carers, at work, and at leisure. Poignant, witty, and sometimes unsettling, these works range from the literal everyday to fantastical explorations of inner feelings.

Funded by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust.

About Women: Photographs by Dorothy Bohm
Until 15 December
'Venice' (1986), Dorothy Bohm

For over seven decades, Dorothy Bohm recorded the changing lives of women across the globe in her intimate, candid photographs. This centenary exhibition is the first to focus on Bohm’s warm, wry, and powerful depictions of womanhood.

Bohm came to the UK in 1939 as a child refugee from Nazism. She settled in Hampstead in the late 1950s, which remained her home for the rest of her life.

This exhibition is in collaboration with Dorothy's daughter, art historian Monica Bohm-Duchen.
