Upcoming Exhibition | Memory and Remedy
Opening 7 June 2024
A new exhibition featuring the bold and evocative screen prints of British artist, Carey Bennett. ‘Memory and Remedy’ explores the nostalgic and remedial potential of brands - inspired by the artist’s personal associations with childhood sickness and at-home remedies, and exploring the reversal in caregiving roles now that both her parents have dementia.
Join Carey Bennett for an artists talk and toast on Saturday 22 June at 2pm - tickets go on sale this week. Accompanying the exhibition, Carey Bennett has created worksheets for kids of different ages to explore what goes into making a recognisable brand, and reflect on the brands that make them feel better. These worksheets form part of our wider summer programme of kids activities: Brands That Make Me. This exhibition relates closely to the Museum's 'Living Brands' programme, which uses everyday heritage products as memory aids for those living with Dementia.
Entry is included with general admission ticket
