London most influential tweeters revealed

If you love to tweet - chances are you've still got some way to go to beat this lot. The official list of London's most influential tweeters has been revealed.

PeerIndex has analysed millions of tweets to find out who we listen to most in the capital.

For the London 100, we focussed only on whether other people in the capital were responding to, retweeting or engaging with a tweeter.

Our maths also assesses who the people engaging with an influencer are. So a retweet from someone highly influential is worth more than a retweet from an average person.

The number of followers does not factor in the weighting. We crunched around 10bn tweets and looked at more than 150m accounts on Twitter to generate this list.

Claire Beardmore got a lot more than she bargained for on a trip to the Somerset House ice rink this evening - when her boyfriend Dan Marsh proposed to her, right there on his (very wobbly) skates.

Martin Stew went to speak to the happy couple.

Somerset House kicks off it's winter seasonwith the return of it's popular ice rink 'Skate', which opens to the publictoday.

Youcan make the most of taking to the ice as the festive rink is open rightthrough to the 5th January.

Hundreds of historic London images seen for first time

Over six hundred historic photographs of London, never seen in public before, have been published for the first time.

The images were discovered by archives manager, Stefan Dickers at Bishopsgate Institute.

He found boxes containing over 3000 slides.

The collection features images of most of London's landmarks, churches, open spaces, statues and buildings, alongside social and cultural scenes from the Victorian to the inter-war period.

A project was launched to digitise the images in 2007, and now they've been printed for the first time.

Festival of Flowers opens at Southwark Cathedral

An exhibition of floral displays 'Festival of Flowers' has been unveiled at Southwark Cathedral. The displays were co-ordinated by Mig Kimpton, a medal winner at the Hampton Court Flower Show, and was set up to promote the charity The Leprosy Mission. It runs until Sunday.
