The chauffeur driven tour begins at the Sherlock Holmes pub which contains a replica of Holmes’ and Watson’s study, and various other diverse artifacts such as Dr Watson’s old service revolver, original cartoons and the stuffed and mounted head of none other than the Hound of the Baskervilles. Originally known as the Northumberland Hotel, it was here that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote many of the famous Sherlock Holmes novels. Moreover, in 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' Henry Baskerville actually meets Sherlock Holmes in this pub!
