Spitalfields Saturday Style Market.

Saturday 15/06/203 saw the official launch of the new Spitalfields Saturday Style Market. In the heart of East London, a new market which is very much international in feel, covered so you can browse even if the weather isn't wonderful, and with a vibrancy which we have come to expect from  this part of London.
East London has been up and coming for years now, and has become known for its' eclectic mix of artists and designers. These are exactly the kind of people who are now trading on this market. With all sorts of innovative products, edgy fashion and the most amazing jewellery, there is something for everyone here. A large number of traders place a big emphasis on their products being sustainable and environmentally friendly. For example, I found a number of traders whose products are made from materials which have been thrown out by other businesses. I saw leather products made from up-cycled leather, there is a stall selling beautiful handbags made from used inner tyres, and another who has clothes made from eucalyptus tree fibre.
I had a chat with Preecha from Pangham, a jewellery company who produce the most gorgeous jewellery from brass. They are originally from Thailand and source their brass from a family firm who manufacture larger, plumbing products from the material. The small amounts which are left over, are passed on to Pangham, who in turn, produce the most amazing jewellery. Preecha himself studied visual merchandising in Thailand and, looking at the way the stall is set up, it as certainly worth it. The stall is a must see! Pangham are very excited about this new market, and have high hopes for it, as have all the other traders I spoke to.
Apart from Pangham, I had a chat with a number of traders, from an up and coming fashion designer to someone who produces fruitbowls out of paperclips, all were very friendly and positive about the market. For me, the market had a very safe and international feel to it, and I will certainly go back there. It would be a good place to source an individual present for a special occasion, whether he birth of a new baby, or a wedding...
Within the market, there are a number of stalls selling fashion, for babies, kids and adults alike! Nothing is mass produced, which means quality of both materials and end products is high, whilst prices are very reasonable. And anything you buy would have real individuality about it, making it wearable for years to come.
Within Spitalfields, there are 2 further markets on Saturdays, an arts market and a vintage market. Again, both of these offer a good opportunity to browse at your leisure.
These three markets alone should keep you busy for hours on end, but that's not all this area has to offer. Within Spitalfields itself, there are a number of establishments where you can take the weight off your feet and quench your thirst, as well as enjoy a nice meal. There are also a number of places where you could grab a quick snack, or an ice-cream.
Once outside, you find a large number of individual shops with further innovative and individual products.

All in all, it would be very easy to spend a whole day here, and there is something for all the family, young and old! Best of all, it's free!
