The Chelsea Fringe comes to Strawberry Hill

This year Strawberry Hill is delighted to be taking part in the Chelsea Fringe on June 4th with tour and talk 'Making Meadows'.

As part of the restoration of the 18th century landscape our garden team are installing a large area of wildflower meadow into the lawns and planting. A wildflower meadow is also being installed as a green roof on the new visitor centre roof.
Come and see the meadows being planted and hear about how you can do this in your own garden during a short walking tour.
As part of Summer Strawberry for grown-up we also have two exclusive garden workshops. On 22nd June you can learn to make southing lotions and balms on our 'Herbal Remedies' . Bring a bunch of your favourite supermarket flowers and combine with flora from Strawberry Hill to make a beautiful creation for your home at 'Flower Arranging on a Budget' on July 6th. Both of these events include a tasty cream tea and a short tour of the garden.
Enjoy an Evening of 18th Century Parisian Music
Music ensemble Follia celebrate the music of Philippe Rameau, Jean-Marie Leclair and contempories in the splendour of Strawberry Hills Long Gallery on 13th June.

2014 marks the 250th anniversary of the deaths of Jean-Philippe Rameau and Jean-Marie Leclair, two of the most innovative and original composers in eighteenth century France. This concert explores the instrumental music of Rameau, Leclair and other composers working in contemporary Paris. The magnificently restored eighteenth century Gothic interior of the Gallery of Strawberry Hill House provides an appropriately atmospheric backdrop to this music of refined elegance and florid drama.
Follia is a baroque ensemble with a flexible combination of instrumental and/or vocal musicians as appropriate to the repertoire being performed.
