Annual stocktake kick starts 2015
Happy new year from all your friends at the Zoo! Keepers kicked off the New Year with the mammoth task of the annual stocktake, take a look at the photos in the links below.

Alika
IT'S A GIRL!
Keepers at ZSL London Zoo have now confirmed that the baby born on the 10 December is a female, and she has been named Alika, meaning ‘most beautiful’.
Mum, Mjukuu and baby are both continuing to do well. First time dad Kumbuka, the Zoo's silverback male, and the rest of the troop are very settled with the new arrival.

Chinese giant salamander
MEET THE WORLD'S LARGEST AMPHIBIAN AT ZSL LONDON ZOO
Professor Wu is the only Chinese giant salamander in the UK, and the 19-year-old male arrived at the end of November. Classified as Critically-Endangered by the IUCN they are facing threat of extinction.
