When a team of climbers began their ascent on Mount Everest in May, 1996, they had no idea the disaster they were walking into.
Having reached the summit, they quickly realise that the storm headed their way looks none too friendly. They begin their descent knowing that the way ahead is paved with danger, but the sheer scale of the catastrophe is more than any of them could have expected.
With their lives at risk, and the elements truly against them, they must work together in order to survive.
This intense and emotional picture is inspired by the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, and is directed by Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur.
