His biography, by Paul Upton, was even launched at the National Portrait Gallery in 2014.
Now Schwarz’s work will go in display M1 Fine Art in Nelson Road, Greenwich, from October 1.
The Vienna-born jewish artist fled from the Nazis, arriving in England in the 1940s aged 16. His father died at Auschwitz.
Although he initially moved around, Schwarz settled in Greenwich in 1970 and lived there until his death and it is where he spent the most prolific and successful period of his career. His wife Lena ran an antique shop in Blackheath Road.
