On Saturday we are delighted to be hosting another fundraising bazaar, featuring numerous dealers’ stalls decked in movie memorabilia. More details here.

And on Sunday we host the Vintage Technology Fair. The best BVWS sellers and collectors of vintage radio technology will be selling surplus valve and vintage sound projection equipment at the Museum from 10.00 to 16.00. More details here.

Venezuela cinema: El Pez que Fuma (1977) Tue 13th Jun 2017 @ 7.30pm
The second of a season of films from Venezuela’s so-called Golden Age of cinema, El Pez que Fuma (the Smoking Fish) (1977), directed by Román Chalbaud, is the tale of a handsome young man who is released from jail and goes to “El Pez Que Fuma”, a bordello in the outskirts of Caracas. La Garza, its middle-aged owner, hires him as a handy man, but he takes the place of the administrator, who is also La Garza’s lover. Tickets £5 on the door. Email culturaembajadalondres@gmail.com for more information about this season.

French Sundaes: Coup de Torchon (1981) Sun 18th Jun @ 2.30pm
Bertrand Tavernier’s black comedy Coup de Torchon (1981), an adaptation of Jim Thompson’s 1964 novel Pop. 1280, changing the novel’s setting a small town in Senegal, and stars Philippe Noiret, Stéphane Audran and Isabelle Huppert. More details here.

Screening of London Symphony Fri 29th Sep @ 7.30pm
London Symphony (2017) is a brand new silent film – a city symphony – which offers a poetic journey through London, a cosmopolitan city facing a challenge to its identity in the current political climate. Directed by Alex Barrett, and featuring an original musical composition by James McWilliam, it is an artistic portrait of the city as it stands today, and a celebration of its culture and diversity.

Bird's Eye View Film
Bird’s Eye View, whose mission is to celebrate the female contribution to film and The Extraordinary Travelling film Show, a pop-up cinema showing great films in unique places, have come together to launch a unique pop-up film club in Vauxhall, with the following season of films:

  • A United Kingdom (2016) – Wednesday 14th June.
  • Postcards from the Edge (1990) – Wednesday 5th July.
