The Venus Garden is open at Windsor Castle This summer, visit a magnificent royal garden at Windsor Castle. The newly transformed Venus Garden offers visitors the rare opportunity to enjoy stunning views of the Castle’s east façade – seldom seen as part of the usual visitor route. We're celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Georgian novelist Jane Austen, with a special display of her works. The fire at the Castle Discover the dramatic story behind the 1992 fire at Windsor Castle, one of the most devastating events in its history. The fire destroyed 115 rooms, including nine State Rooms and led to an extensive five-year restoration programme.
