Sunday 26th March doors open at 8 Mother's Day Jazz Sessions Buy Tickets Here   Mothers admitted to the venue free of charge for a great evening of Jazz music and a complimentary glass of Prosecco.   Sebastiaan de Krom In 1995 Sebastiaan de Krom won the prestigious Buddy Rich Award and from 1997-99 was the drummer for the renowned Thelonious Monk Institute Jazz Performance programme. He has performed with artists such as Herbie Hancock and John Scofield, and between 2001/8 played drums in Jamie Cullum's regular touring and recording rhythm section. Currently Sebastiaan is the drummer of choice for a wide variety of top UK jazz musicians and groups. The Troubadour is proud to have Sebastiaan host an evening of Jazz the third Sunday of every month. Featuring hand picked players, Sebastiaan will undoubtedly impress conjuring the subtle nuance inside and outside Jazz familiars as well as exploring the outer-limits.... Saturday 1st April doors open at 8 Bill Kirchen & Austin De Lone  Buy Tickets Here Bill Kirchen and Austin de Lone team up for a hands-across-the-Atlantic collection with their new studio album, Transatlanticana, out on August 26, 2016 on Red House Records. This long-overdue release unites the pioneers of two major musical movements: Kirchen co-founded the original “Americana" band, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, and his trademark Telecaster licks drove their hit “Hot Rod Lincoln" into the Top 10 in 1972. De Lone dropped out of Harvard to start Eggs Over Easy, moving to London and recording with Jimi Hendrix's producer/manager and The Animals' bass player Chas Chandler in 1970. The Eggs are the progenitors of British pub rock, the first link in the chain to punk rock, new wave and beyond. Backed by both their all-star British and American bands, Transatlanticana finds Kirchen and de Lone trading songwriting credits and lead vocals on this soulful and rocking collection. The songs of Transatlanticana represent the core elements of Americana music – R&B, country, rock and even a gospel track.

Thursday 8th September: Patchwork Skies Patchwork Skies Patchwork Skies are a folksy duo; Charlie and Emma bring two vocals, two acoustic guitars and a flute to the mix and write their own music inspired by folk and country genres. Currently based in London and Norwich, they have performed in various venues around the UK for the past 3 years and have just recorded and released their first ever EP - "Go Outside".

Friday 9th September:  Rupert Wates Rupert Wates All original, acoustic melodic art/folk with flavors of jazz and vaudeville. Rupert Wates was born in London and has been based in the US since 2006. He's the winner of over 30 songwriting awards. More TBA

Saturday 10th September:  Tribute to Django Reinhardt The Troubadour London Celebrates The Music Of Django Reinhardt Featuring the talents of John Wheatcroft, The Phil Grispo Orchestra, along with very special guests. Gypsy Jazz at its finest. Join us as we celebrate one of the greatest guitarists of all time and get your swing on with a dose of Djangology! Phil Grispo Orchestra Swinging up-tempo gypsy jazz meets the haunting melodies of Parisenne waltzes. John Wheatcroft  John Wheatcroft seamlessly integrates the sound of modern jazz with the timeless Franco-American swing of Django Reinhardt, producing a sound that is rooted in the traditions of the genre - vital, forward thinking and highly original.

Sunday 11th September:  Jazz Sessions The Troubadour presents Jazz Sessions, featuring The Troubadour Jazz band. The Troubadour's Jazz Sessions offer a wide range of Jazz music and outstanding musicians from all over the globe. Standards with a twist, improvisations, new compositions, all things Jazz every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month. Joanna Shiel (PIANIST AND VOCALIST) Joanna is a jazz pianist and vocalist from and based in London. Her range of style extends from classical, jazz, folk and blues through to world and latin jazz making her a versatile and interesting performer. Trained in jazz piano performance at LCCM (London Centre of Contemporary Music) under direction from Roland Perrin (Piano) and David O'Higgins (Saxophone), Joanna is an accomplished musician and has performed throughout the UK, Brazil and China.  Joanna is also an accomplished educator, introducing music to young people throughout the world through interactive, activity led workshops most notably in Shanghai, China and London, UK. DEREK DAYLEY (BASS/DOUBLE BASS) Derek is a Caribbean born electric, double bassist and accomplished drummer currently based in London. He is a student of jazz performance at the London Centre of Contemporary Music Trained under Jeoff Gascoyne(Bass). Derek is a career session musician, teacher and arranger, working with artists such as Emeli Sande and Ed Sheeran among others. He is well versed in a range of musical styles having gained experience touring extensively throughout Europe and America performing musical styles including folk, jazz, hip-hop,rock, E.D.M, reggae and metal.  Derek boasts over fifteen years of performance and five years teaching experience at age twenty-three, some of his more notable awards include Young musician of the year (ACM), Student of the year award (BANM - British Academy of Music). Jean-Loup Didelot (DRUMS) Jean-Loup is a versatile drummer and percussionist from Geneva, Switzerland now based in London. Jean-Loup is an accomplished musician on drums and percussion, having studied jazz drum performance at the London Centre of Contemporary Music playing in many styles from classical to jazz, reggae to hip-hop. Jean-Loup has many years performing experience playing in over 250 concerts in several notable venues throughout Switzerland, France and the UK.  As well as drums and percussion, Jean-Loup is also an experienced keyboard and bass player as well as arranger and DJ.

Buy tickets here: What's on at the Troubadour London Tuesday 21 June: Songwriter's Showcase Join us as we celebrate the Troubadour's storied legacy of breaking emerging songwriters with a crop of some of the finest talent around. This week featuring: Stead Stead is a musician of the old traditions. A singer songwriter and crafter of elegant, lo-fi songs that seem to fuse soulful folk, pop, Mediterranean vibes and underground, understated lounge jazz with healthy disregard for convention. Lilting ballads filled with romanticism, disarming honesty and wistful philosophy born of the experience of life. Avery Florence She has the voice of an angel, matched with soulful yet haunting melodies and lyrics. Avery Florence always connects to an audience with her sense of humour and genuine persona. She has been compared to Norah Jones soft quality with Dolly Parton's twang. Rob Godfrey Dark acoustic love songs with a jazz influence. Wednesday 22 June: Soundcheque's Que the Music  Earth, Wind & Fire's Mo Pleasure will be joined by special "surprise" guests for a showcase of original music and film covers.  Doors open at 8:00.   Thursday 23 June: Think Country Presents: The CAINS | Meaghan Blanchard | Lisa Wright | Amy Westney Taylor, Madison and Logan Cain are not only singers and songwriters, but also multifaceted entertainers and musicians who play guitar, piano, bass, harmonica and more. It all started when eldest sibling, Taylor, learned her first song on the piano at 5 years old and, a few years later, began teaching her younger siblings to sing harmony with her. A few years of practice and three college degrees later, the group has banded together as The Cains to write, record and release their own original music. Meaghan Blanchard is a gifted guitarist with her own blend of light claw hammer/finger picking style; paired with a crystal pure voice and a unique ability to write and tell stories through charming character driven songs. Friday 24 June:  Echo Parade | Hazel Iris Echo Parade are an up and coming indie rock band based in North London. They have surf influences infused with garage rock with bands such as JAWS, Bombay Bicycle Club and the Districts at the forefront of their influences. Having signed to Marvellous Records, Californian singer/songwriter Hazel Irisplays Quirky, Folky Indie­Pop. This unique sound has already been gaining Hazel Iris attention and not just on the London circuit. In the last year Hazel has featured in a number of magazines including Music Week and Headliner Magazine and also on a number of radio stations including Radio X Frankfurt and WRFL.FM USA. She studied opera as a soprano in Germany but it was her move to London that gave birth to her far from conventional sound drawing her influences from other female artists such as Björk, Fiona Apple, Tracey Thorn and Feist. Saturday 25 June: Morton Valence Jr. and Band | Bob Juburi Morton Valence Jr. featuring Anne & Hacker of Morton Valence, Vladimir Strkalj of Balkan gypsy legends Paprika and friends, playing some MV classics and also showcasing some songs from Anne and Hacker's new project 'Black Angel Drifter'. Bob Juburi, grainy blues/jazz/pop artist debuts his new band, especially formed for this gig! June at The Troubadour! We're celebrating the start of Summer (or whatever passes for it on theses shores) and the Summer holidays with a special 'Kids Eat Free' deal in the café. And while you're with the children, you can try our spectacular new guest coffee (available throughout June and July), have a healthy nibble from our fresh daily salad bar, or even hang out with the Troubadour robin. He's very friendly, in case you haven't met him yet. In the club, Troubadour Coffee House Poetry concludes it's successful summer season with two readings this month (see below for more details and how to book tickets). Last month's attendees included Jimmy Page  - clearly a man of exceptional literary taste. Speaking of good taste, our Club is running a brand new line of intricately crafted shots and shooters that are well worth investigating. We also have a typically jam-packed Club programme, including another Troubadour Jam Sessions, Chris Woods's awesome London Guitar Night, and a stellar array of new talent and unsigned acts, as well as some old favourites. Check out some of our selected highlights from the Club below and see the full programme here.

APRIL AT THE TROUBADOUR The temperatures are rising and The Troubadour Garden is open! April is here to continue the excellent 60th year at The Troubadour London. We are looking forward to visits from those attending The London Book Fair at Earls Court this coming week, and seeing your funny head wear on Hat Tuesday in The Café. April also brings the return of the salad bar! Stop by Monday-Friday for a unique selection of salads between midday and 4 pm! A delightful meal to enjoy in our garden space.
