London Underground | London - ITV News

London Underground | London - ITV News: "To mark London Underground's 150th anniversary, five of the capital's iconic Tube maps have been created entirely out of LEGO.

They aim to showcase how the map has evolved from 1927 through to the first look at what it will look like by 2020.

The maps, each one at a different London Underground station, will be on display over the summer before moving to the London Transport Museum.

The maps can be seen at Kings Cross St. Pancras Underground station, South Kensington, Picadilly, Green Park and Stratford Tube stations."

Promise of a new age for 'scruffy end' of Oxford Street - London - News - London Evening Standard

Promise of a new age for 'scruffy end' of Oxford Street - London - News - London Evening Standard: "A new vision for Oxford Street’s so-called scruffy end, with a renaissance as global brands return, was unveiled at a major London property conference today.

The arrival of Crossrail at Tottenham Court Road and the redevelopment or construction of 220,000 square feet of new shop space — equivalent to a large department store — mean the east end of the street will be transformed by 2020, experts said."

Debenhams to dazzle Oxford Street with 180,000 shiny tiles - London - News - London Evening Standard

Debenhams to dazzle Oxford Street with 180,000 shiny tiles - London - News - London Evening Standard: "The West End’s “ugly duckling” department store is to receive a £40 million makeover to transform it into an Oxford Street landmark.

Debenhams flagship branch — described as a “dispiriting” block of Seventies concrete — will be covered in 180,000 hanging brushed aluminium panels that will ripple like water in the wind.

The design is the brainchild of multi-award-winning Californian architect Ned Kahn, who has completed similar eye-catching work for Brisbane Airport and the Swiss  Science Centre"

London Pubs - Windsor Castle - Pubs with Beer Gardens
114 CAMPDEN HILL ROAD, KENSINGTON, LONDON, W8 7AR
Windsor Castle - All About London

Welcome to Kensington's friendliest pub

If you'd dropped in at this west London pub in the late 1830s, you'd have said its name was more than fitting. With its segregation of the classes (and the sexes) it must have been like experiencing Queen Victoria's court. Today the Windsor Castle attracts a much more chilled crowd from Kensington, Notting Hill and Holland Park, who're tempted in by our delicious pub food and impressive range of speciality drinks.
  • Wide range of real ales & world beers
  • Interesting wines
  • Lavish Sunday roast
  • Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere
  • Relaxing beer garden
