Debenhams to dazzle Oxford Street with 180,000 shiny tiles - London - News - London Evening Standard: "The West End’s “ugly duckling” department store is to receive a £40 million makeover to transform it into an Oxford Street landmark.

Debenhams flagship branch — described as a “dispiriting” block of Seventies concrete — will be covered in 180,000 hanging brushed aluminium panels that will ripple like water in the wind.

The design is the brainchild of multi-award-winning Californian architect Ned Kahn, who has completed similar eye-catching work for Brisbane Airport and the Swiss  Science Centre"
