Floating market Little Venice London.
This August, London’s Regent’s Canal is hosting a colourful Floating Market. Barges and narrowboats have moored up along the towpath to ply their trades, selling everything from books and hats to vintage frocks and handicrafts.

The floating market has been a popular attraction at Mile End on the Regent’s canal this summer and it’s now moving to Little Venice  in West London. The market will stay there from 20 August to 2 September, over the course of the Paralympic Games and for the August Bank Holiday.

Vintage caps and new books

There will be plenty of hearty food on offer with sausages, Slovakian food and sandwiches as well as cake, tea and coffee. If you’re not hungry but in the market for a vintage cap, glass jewellery, a new book or even a new haircut you’ll also be well catered for.
Jon Guest, London waterway manager at Canal & River Trust, said:  “This summer thousands of visitors from all over the world are going to discover the wildlife and heritage havens that run through the heart of London. The Floating Market brings together traditional narrowboats and customised barges offering books, handicrafts, fashion and a whole variety of food.
