Parts of Britain experienced thunder and lightning last night as the country headed into what is predicted to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Lightning streaked over the skies of London as a downpour hit the capital.


The UK saw its hottest day of the year yesterday on Thursday 17th July with temperatures set to increase today. A heat-wave warning has been put in place for some areas on Friday, with temperatures tipped to reach as high as 32C.

Some Londoners even complained of being woken up by loud thunder claps in the early hours of this morning.
