Transport for London - Weekend travel information

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 15/16 November. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal this weekend, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Bakerloo line
On Sunday, there is no service between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone due to Network Rail engineering work.

Central line
Trains will not run between White City and Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip. This is to enable track and drainage replacement work at East Acton.

District line
There is no service between Aldgate East and Upminster while we carry out track work at Stepney Green and signalling upgrade work at Barking and Upminster. We will also be carrying out Crossrail work at Whitechapel. For more information about Crossrail, please click here

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between Moorgate and Barking. This is to allow for track improvement work at Stepney Green and Crossrail work at Whitechapel.

Jubilee line
On Sunday, there is no service between Waterloo and Finchley Road to enable us to carry out essential tunnelling work.




London Overground


Work is taking place at several locations in preparation for five car trains and for Crossrail or Earl’s Court development work. Trains will not run between the following stations on the following days:
 Clapham Junction and Kensington (Olympia) (on Saturday)
 Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction (on Sunday)
 Gospel Oak and Stratford (on Sunday)
 Queen’s Park and Watford Junction (on Sunday)
 Highbury & Islington and Shadwell (all weekend)
 Surrey Quays and New Cross (all weekend)
 Sydenham and Crystal Palace (all weekend)

London Buses


Central London - On Saturday, from 11:30 until 15:30, a march will take place between Bloomsbury and Marble Arch via Oxford Street. This will be followed by a rally. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Central London - On Sunday, from 07:15 until 22:00, buses will be diverted or stop short of their normal destination between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus. This is due to a Regent Street event.

Westminster - On Sunday, from 10:00 until 15:45, Whitehall will be closed for a ceremony. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Central London - On Saturday, from 11:30 until 15:30, a march will take place between Bloomsbury and Marble Arch via Oxford Street. This will be followed by a rally.

Wembley - On Saturday from 14:00 until 21:00, North Circular (A406), Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around Wembley Stadium are expected to be busy, due to an event at the stadium.

Putney - From 22:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Monday, Upper Richmond Road (A205) will be closed between Putney Hill (A219) and Burston Road. This is due to water mains work.

Central London - On Sunday, from 07:15 until 22:00, Regent Street will be closed between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus due to an event.

Westminster - On Sunday, from 10:00 until 15:45, Whitehall will be closed for a ceremony.

Central London - Lane closures are in place on Victoria Embankment (A3211) between Northumberland Avenue and Horse Guards Avenue, until 21:00 on Saturday 20 December. This is due to water mains work.

Vauxhall - Lane restrictions are in place on Wandsworth Road (A3036) at Parry Street, Nine Elms Lane and Bondway, until 23:59 on Monday 22 December. This is due to gas mains work.

Barclays Cycle Hire


Harewood Avenue docking station will be permanently relocated to Boston Place in Marylebone, due to road improvements.

On Sunday, from 06:00 until 17:00, Cadogan Place docking station is out of service due to roadworks.
