David Brent: Life On The Road - Synopsis - Poster - Trailer

He may not be the general manager at the Slough branch of Wernham-Hogg anymore, but Brent (Ricky Gervais) is back in Life on the Road, which follows the musical ambitions of this extraordinary, ordinary man.
It’s been 16 years since he walked out of that office for the final time, but Brent still bears that trademark suit. Now a sales rep and self-proclaimed rock god, he’s on tour with his band, Forgotten Conclusion.
The makers of a ‘where are they now?’ style documentary are keen to learn what he’s been up to since the Wernham-Hogg days, and Brent is keen to be portrayed as something of a Rolling Stone, akin to Scorsese’s Shine a Light film.
However, the truth of the matter is that Brent is somewhat broke, having to use part of his pension to pay his bandmate, Dom Johnson (Doc Brown), as well as the rest of his entourage.
Will the general manager turned rock star ever fulfil his dream of being a successful musician, or is he destined to feature in small-time documentaries for the rest of his life?
Life on the Road sees Gervais and Brown collaborate once again, after having previously worked together on Derekand the Comic Relief single, “Equality Street”. Expect more musical comedy here, too, with the soundtrack promising songs entitled “Native American” and “Please Don’t Make Fun of the Disabled”.
