Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 13-14 August 2016

Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 13-14 August. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
There will be no service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill via King's Cross St. Pancras. This is to allow us to carry out Crossrail construction work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Farringdon. A special service will operate every 10 minutes between Edgware Road and Barking via Victoria.

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking while we carry out Crossrail construction work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Farringdon.

Metropolitan line
There will be no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Aldgate. This is to allow us to carry out Crossrail construction work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Farringdon.




London Overground


Tonight, Thursday, there will be no service after 22:15 between Sydenham and West Croydon, due to Network Rail track work.

From Monday until Thursday, there will be no service after 22:30 between Hackney Downs and Chingford, due to Network Rail track work.

On Sunday, trains will not run between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon, due to Network Rail track work.
 
Until February 2017, there are closures on the Gospel Oak to Barking line as follows:
 Trains will not run between South Tottenham and Barking for the entire period
 At weekends, there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking

London Trams


There is no service until Tuesday between East Croydon and Sandilands. This is while we renew track.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

East London - From 22:00 until 05:30 each weeknight until 23 August, there will be lane closures in both directions on A13 Lodge Flyover. This is due to borehole drilling.

City of London - From 20:00 on Friday until 07:00 on Sunday, New Bridge Street will be closed southbound at the junction of Ludgate Circus. This is for Thames Water works.

Hammersmith - From 22:30 on Friday until 06:00 on Saturday, 22:30 on Saturday until 06:00 on Sunday, and 22:30 on Sunday until 05:00 on Monday, Hammersmith Flyover will be closed westbound. This is to allow for maintenance work to rectify some defective waterproofing. Additionally, the flyover will be reduced to one lane westbound between 06:00 and 22:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

Putney - From 07:00 until 19:00 on Saturday, A205 Upper Richmond Road will be closed in both directions between West Hill and Putney High Street. This is for resurfacing Works.

Westminster - From 11:00 until 14:00 on Saturday, there will be delays to traffic on Northumberland Avenue, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Parliament Square. This is for a march.

North London - From 22:00 on Saturday until early September, there will be eastbound lane restrictions on A406 Brook Road. This is for resurfacing and drainage works.

London Bridge - From 09:00 until 17:00 on Sunday, London Bridge will be closed to northbound traffic. This is for a crane operation.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
 Kingsway, for repair works
 South Quay West, Wansey Street and High Holborn, for building works
 South Kensington Tube station, for utility works
 Baldwin Street, for telecoms works
