Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2013

The Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition and exhibition continues to showcase incredible images from amateur astrophotographers all around the world.
The awards ceremony takes place on the 18 September at the Royal Observatory, to celebrate all the entries. The very next day you get to see these inspiring photos for yourself.

Yinka Shonibare MBE at Greenwich

Best known for 'Nelson's Ship in a Bottle' which greets visitors to the NMM. Yinka Shonibare will show off new work within The Queen's House as part of our Contemporary Arts Programme. This includes two life-size figures inspired by the life and loves of Lord Nelson and a gravity defying outdoor sculpture guaranteed to take your breath away.

A musical pig that played a tune for children as the Titanic sank, has sang its tune for the first time in living memory thanks to x-ray technology, but that was only part of the story when it came to figuring out its tune.
