ZSL April Animal News

Join us for a wild night out…at the cinema!

This May ZSL London Zoo is opening its doors after hours offering film-lovers the chance to enjoy animal-movie classics in the stunning setting of the Zoo. Mixing the silverbacks with the silver screen, movie-goers will be completely immersed in the sights, sounds and scents of the animal kingdom, exploring one of the Zoo’s incredible exhibits before each screening.

Giving a whole new meaning to the term ‘silent cinema’, guests will wear headphones to watch the film so our animals can still get their beauty sleep.

IT'S A GIRL... AND TWO BOYS!
ZSL London Zoo’s trio of tiger cubs had their first health check last week, and their eager keepers were finally able to determine the sexes of the new arrivals. ZSL is now running a competition with Channel 5’s Milkshake programme, with the winner helping to choose names for the three cubs.

MOVING THE FENCE POSTS
MOVING THE FENCE POSTS
The use of fenced areas to protect threatened species in the wild should be a last resort, argue scientists from ZSL and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). In an article published in the journal Science, the conservation community develops a clearer understanding of the ecological changes caused when an area is fenced.
