Somerset House - Graphic Arts Festival - Now Open

Pick Me Up has returned for its fifth year and features spaces inhabited by groups of designers and illustrators in which to shop for affordable artwork, and a daily, lively line-up of events which encourage both budding and experienced creatives of all ages to get involved. Read on for just a few highlights from this year's graphic arts festival.

Collectives and Galleries
Cutting-edge collectives and contemporary graphic art galleries will each takeover a space where they will present a bountiful body of new and existing work. Don't miss Puck Collective's Andy War-Wall, and it's not just your eyes that are in for a treat, for the first time Pick Me Up Radio will be broadcasted live by Comms Bureau.

Pick Me Up Selects
Browse and buy limited-edition artwork from the next generation of graphic artists. The group of international rising stars have been picked by a panel of industry insiders and commissioned to create new work specially for Pick Me Up. Don't missJulia PottsJack Husdon and Lynnie Zulu.

Daily Specials
Bringing the finest names in design and illustration on a daily basis. All free with entry, these day-long project give visitors the chance to learn from their heroes of the graphic arts world. Amongst the incredible line-up don't miss illustrator and printmaker Anthony Burrill on 25 Apr or a pug-drawing workshop with Gemma Correll on 27 Apr.

On each day of the festival there will be an exciting and eclectic schedule of creative workshops, music, interactive events, and much more inside the festival. Talks and Screenings
Pick Me Up 2014 presents talks and screenings with a host of graphic art, design and illustration talent. Don't miss Judith Kerr in conversation on 4 May, hear from artist and illustrator George Butler on 29 Apr who specialises in travel and current affairs or join a series of events 26-27 May with award-winning studio Blinkink.

Children's Choice Weekend
Following its phenomenal success last year, theChildren’s Choice Weekend will return with more interactive family-friendly fun from 3-4 May. Don't miss an ‘in conversation’ event with Judith Kerrknown for her Mog series and The Tiger Who Came To Tea, plus join Rastamouse creators for a day of reading and drawing.
