Join us for Friday Late: Valentines at Mail Rail

The Postal Museum hosts a late-night adult only opening of Mail Rail on Valentine’s Day. All aboard the love train!

Couples can get cosy on The Postal Museum’s very own Love Train (aka Mail Rail) with a complimentary glass of prosecco and then discover love stories from their 500-year-old archive.

There are lessons in love as the museum’s curators reveal romantic letters between long distance lovers, secret messages and on the less romantic side ‘Vinegar Valentines’ sent by cheeky Victorians. Visitors will be encouraged to get creative and write a letter to a loved one (romantic or otherwise) at a letter writing station.

Who wouldn’t want to share the love? Visitors can help to combat loneliness by creating, writing and sending a non-romantic valentine’s card to a stranger with charity Kindness by Post.

Ticket costs £25 per person and includes:

  • A complimentary drink of prosecco on arrival (soft drink alternative available)
  • A ride on Mail Rail
  • A cash bar will be available throughout the evening for guests to purchase drinks
