From this week, some restaurants, bars, pubs and museums will start reopening and we can’t wait to pay them a visit, so below are a few great places to put on your radar, as well a couple of online events to bridge the gap! What: Starting this week, Londoners will be able to enjoy a staple of summer evenings in the capital: rooftop movie nights! Bar Elba in Waterloo is kicking off the outdoor cinema season with classics such as Back to the Future and Pretty Woman, as well as more recent movies like Black Panther, La La Land and Rocketman. Standard tickets include snacks!

What: East London chocolatier Lucocoa takes you on a journey into the world of chocolate, from bean to bar. Find out more about how chocolate bars are made, and take part in a mouth-watering demo that will leave you wanting for more. This is part of Greenwich Peninsula’s virtual programme of events running until September.

What: The first of London’s much missed museums and galleries to reopen, the National Gallery is back! To be able to manage the number of visitors and maintain social distancing measures, all visitors will need to pre-book entry tickets (free if you’re visiting the collection only), and are encouraged to wear face masks. We’ve missed wandering around this iconic building!

What: As London continues reopening, it is time to start planning all the things you’ve always said you wanted to see and do in the capital, and never have! Tune in to episode 4 of London Stories on Visit London’s IGTV and Facebook page to hear from four Blue Badge Guides who’ll share all their secrets about London, as well as all their favourite places. Whether you’re a Londoner or a soon-to-be visitor, these guys will give you a brand-new perspective on our city.

What: Visit London has teamed up with Photocrowd and the Museum of London, to offer Londoners a chance to showcase the best of their local area and the people and places of London, as restrictions begin to ease and the capital emerges from lockdown. Share your pictures for a chance to win photo equipment and to be featured on the Museum of London’s website.
