WELCOME BACK TO GROUPS

We are delighted to welcome back groups to The Queen's official residences and galleries. Read our latest newsletter to find out about new areas of Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse that groups can discover. We've made some changes to help keep everyone safe. Here's what you need to know: We are now open Thursday to Monday You must book a timed ticket in advance We have touch-free hand sanitiser dispensers throughout the visitor routes We've reduced capacity and closed off small spaces to help you maintain social distancing In our shops and café, please pay by card. VISIT Keeping safe when you visit Your health is our number one priority. While we were closed, we made a number of changes in line with government advice to keep groups safe when visiting us. Watch our short video to find out more, and visit our website for further details. FIND OUT MORE

VISIT Explore the East Terrace Garden Windsor Castle Weekends in August and September Groups can wander through the garden for the first time in decades and take in the view of the surrounding areas as part of a visit to the Castle. The garden features clipped domes of yew and 3,500 rose bushes and was the backdrop for a portrait of The Queen to mark Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. FIND OUT MORE

VISIT Pantomime pictures revealed Windsor Castle Maintenance work in the Waterloo Chamber revealed a secret on the walls: 16 'pantomime pictures'. Fairytale scenes from Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood among others were painted during the Second World War to decorate the room for The Queen's (then Princess Elizabeth) pantomimes. Don’t miss them before they’re hidden once again. BOOK IN ADVANCE

VISIT Discover the Royal Kitchen Palace of Holyroodhouse Groups can visit the Royal Kitchen for the very first time and get a glimpse of a hidden Palace function. The kitchen is the hub of our working Palace. It once housed a huge open fire and roasting pit and was modernised in the 1920s. Be quick - our kitchen is only open for a limited time. TAKE A LOOK

EXHIBITION Eastern Encounters The Queen's Gallery, Edinburgh until 31 January 2021 From the courts of the Great Mughals, to the foothills of the Himalayas and 20th-century Calcutta, join us on an extraordinary journey as we explore over 400 years of royal encounters with the Indian Subcontinent. VISIT See The Queen's coaches The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace until 30 November The Royal Mews is home to the royal collection of coaches and carriages used on memorable occasions such as The Queen's coronation and Trooping the Colour. Enjoy the summer weather whilst seeing the Gold State Coach and the Diamond Jubilee State Coach. BOOK HERE

EXHIBITION George IV: Art & Spectacle The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace until 11 October Groups have more time to learn about the more exuberant side of this monarch. Our exhibition includes works from his libraries, prints and drawings and Dutch Old Master paintings. BOOK IN ADVANCE
