ELMER and Friends: The Colourful World of David McKee

Opens Friday 21 October

Step into David McKee’s colourful world in this first ever major retrospective of his striking illustrations and celebrate over 30 years of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.

As well as illustrations from the Elmer series, see original artwork from Not Now Bernard, Mr Benn and King Rollo, and enjoy the dressing up and reading areas.

Free for Members and Benefactors.

Join us for fiendish fun at the Horniman Halloween Fair in your best fancy dress! Enjoy spooky crafts and magic, take part in a Halloween Science Spectacular, join in the fancy dress parade, browse the craft market and lots more!

Future Superheroes

Monday 24 - Thursday 27 October

Create a superhero of the future this Black History Month with the help of artist Habiba Nabisubi. In this creative workshop, take inspiration from African artefacts, black comic book characters and afrofuturistic artworks.

Hear it Live!

Thursday 13 October, 3.30pm

Yeo Yat-Soon performs eighteenth-century music on the harpsichord. Works include English dances by Ignatius Sancho, and music by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Thomas Arne and Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Nature + Love update

Following the announcement of our National Lottery Heritage Fund grant earlier this year we have been working hard on developing our plans for the Nature + Love project.

We would love to share progress with our local community, and will be presenting our latest design concepts at a meeting in the Horniman Pavilion on Monday 10 October, 6–7.30pm.

If you would like to attend please email framework@horniman.ac.uk by Monday 3 October and we will confirm your place. If you are unable to attend but would still like to be updated, please contact us on the same email address and we will share details after the event.
