Somerset House - The Horror Show! opens next week 👹👻

The Horror Show! collage of figures

Opening this Thursday

If there's one thing we can be certain about over the next seven days, it's that anticipation is building for the opening of The Horror Show! A Twisted Tale of Modern Britain, a landmark exhibition that celebrates our greatest cultural provocateurs and visionaries. We invite you on a timely and prescient journey to the underbelly of Britain’s cultural psyche, looking at ideas rooted in horror that have informed the last 50 years of creative rebellion.

Co-curated by BAFTA nominated filmmakers and resident artists at Somerset House Studios Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard, and Somerset House Senior Curator Claire Catterall, who also conceived the idea, the exhibition features over 200 artworks and culturally significant artefacts, plus a series of new commissions from some of our country’s most provocative artists, presented in three shapeshifting acts – MonsterGhost and Witch.

Prepare yourself for a visceral experience that reveals how the anarchic alchemy of horror can help us make sense of the troubled world around us.
