Hieroglyphs: unlocking ancient Egypt

Opens Thursday 13 October

Our major new exhibition will transport you through 3,000 years of ancient history. Hear ancient Egyptian voices, from love poetry and shopping lists to international treaties and tax returns. 

You can also join the exhibition's curators for our free online event on 20 October as they explore how the race to decipher hieroglyphs culminated in a stunning breakthrough.
