Elmer and Friends: The Colourful World of David McKee

Until 16 April 2023

See beautiful original illustrations from the Elmer books and other classics by author and illustrator David McKee. Little ones can explore Elmer’s world with gentle playful elements including dressing up and reading areas, and solve a giant Elmer puzzle.

Members' Week  21- 27 November

We are holding our first ever Members’ Week to thank our amazing members for their support. There will be special events for Members including a Winter Walk with our Head of Horticulture Errol Fernandes, and an extra discount in our Shops.

Membership provides fantastic value if you visit the Horniman at least twice each year, with benefits including free entry to our paid exhibitions, Aquarium and Butterfly House.

Featuring spectacular plants from North American prairie and South African grasslands, the Grassland Gardens continue to provide beautiful colours and textures throughout the autumn.

The Horniman recently won Best Heritage Garden of the Year 2022 in the London in Bloom Awards. Praised for our approach to mitigating climate change and supporting biodiversity, find out more about how planting in the Gardens is having to adapt.
