Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 2-3 July. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you. London Underground We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube. For a map showing the planned line closures for this weekend and also bus replacement information, please click here Circle line There will be no service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill via King's Cross St. Pancras. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Aldgate. District line On Sunday, trains will not run between Turnham Green and Richmond while Network Rail carry out track work. Hammersmith & City line Trains will not run between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking while we carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street as well as track replacement work at Aldgate. Metropolitan line There will be no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Aldgate. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Aldgate. London Overground On Sunday, trains will not run between Richmond and Willesden Junction, due to Network Rail track work. Tesco to open its first standalone pop-­‐up finest* wine bar in the capital

This summer Londoners will be able to sample an array of award-­‐winning wines from the UK’s largest wine retailer – right in the heart of the capital. On Tuesday 2nd August, Tesco will be opening its first ever pop-­‐up wine bar in London’s Soho.

With 70 wines to choose from, the finest* wine bar will offer one of the most comprehensive collections of quality wine at any bar in London. From sampling their usual tipple to exploring the flavours of the world, the finest* wine bar is sure to offer customers a wine to please all palates.

Experts, wine buyers and Tesco’s very own Master of Wine James Davis, will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice on how to pick the right wines for the important moments in life. From the first date, meeting the in-­‐laws, or that much anticipated night in, to the most drinkable wine for a hot summer’s day, Tesco has the right wine for every occasion. 

Whilst all the wines will be available to purchase by the glass, those wishing to explore different styles can opt for one of the carefully created wine flights. Designed to introduce customers to exciting alternatives that are beyond their usual repertoire, each wine flight will comprise of three glasses for wine lovers to unearth a new favourite variety. Burgh House & Hampstead Museum - What's On

July is here already... and behind the scenes at Burgh House, installation is under way for our next major exhibition on Helen Allingham. Working with Burgh House Curator Rebecca Lodge, artist Rea Stavropoulos will be using her own work (above-Madre Terre, watercolour by Rea Stavropoulos,2009) and written responses to bring to life the woman behind the paintings. Beyond Watercolour Gardens: Helen Allingham Revisited Wednesday 6 July – Sunday 9 October Burgh House has one of the most extensive public collections of art by Helen Allingham, and it will be shown in its entirety in this temporary exhibition, co-curated by artist Rea Stavropoulos. The exhibition reexamines Allingham’s work with a contemporary slant, looking past the exquisite watercolour gardens for which she is widely known, to the life of the artist herself; her marriage, her friends and the evolution of her artistic career. Browning and Pre-Raphaelite artists such as Rossetti. In 1890, when the ban on female members was lifted, Allingham became the first fully elected woman in the Royal Watercolour Society’s history. Providing a fresh view of this prolific Victorian watercolourist’s output and influences, Rea Stavropoulos’s written and artistic responses to Allingham’s work will also present a view on what it means to be a professional female artist. Restored to Glory: The Story of the Burgh House Gates Until Sunday 24 July The iconic, listed wrought-iron gates that form the entrance to Burgh House were added in the early years of the 18th century. As part of our Renaissance Appeal to secure the future of the House, the gates and brickwork have been painstakingly restored to their original splendour in a £27,000 conservation project. This exhibition will shed light on the process taken in these works, alongside a selection of drawings, paintings and photographs of the gates  over the years. We will also be showing documents, photographs and objects charting the progress of the rest of the work that forms our appeal to safeguard the future of Burgh House, and the history of our campaigns and projects to protect, improve and repair this Grade-I listed building since the charity was formed to rescue the House in 1979. Patterns of Experience: Photography, Painting, Sculpture & Installation Wed 27 July - Sun 31 July This exhibition brings together the work of seven artists: Carlie Grindey, Caroline Lee, Cathy Kenny, Charlotte Mann, Janet Bell, Mark Antony Haden Ford and Trish Longhurst. What they all have in common is the exploration of being human: abundant, fun, creative, related and playful in art.
