Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 2-3 July. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
There will be no service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill via King's Cross St. Pancras. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Aldgate.

District line
On Sunday, trains will not run between Turnham Green and Richmond while Network Rail carry out track work.

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking while we carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street as well as track replacement work at Aldgate.

Metropolitan line
There will be no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Aldgate. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Aldgate.




London Overground


On Sunday, trains will not run between Richmond and Willesden Junction, due to Network Rail track work.

From Monday to Thursday, there is no service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 22:30, due to Network Rail track work.
 
Until February 2017, there are closures on the Gospel Oak to Barking line as follows:
 Trains will not run between South Tottenham and Barking for the entire period
 At weekends, there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking
This is while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018. For more information, please click here





TfL Rail


On Sunday, there will be no service between Liverpool Street and Stratford, due to Network Rail overhead power and track work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

Wimbledon - Until 10 July, traffic is likely to be busy in Southfields, Wimbledon Village and town centre. Parking restrictions will also be in place. This is due to the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Central London - Until mid-July, there are restrictions in place on Marble Arch, at the junction with Edgware Road. In addition restrictions may be in place from 22:00 until 06:00 nightly on the southbound approach to Marble Arch. This is for building works.

Central London - From 06:00 until 08:00 on Friday, Parliament Square and all approaches to it will be closed. This is for a ceremonial event. Sections of Whitehall will also be closed.

Central London - From 21:00 until 23:45 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Park Lane, between Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch and the eastbound slip road from Knightsbridge to Hyde Park Corner may be closed. This is for an event.

Blackheath - On Saturday and Sunday, there will be road closures in the area for an event.

Chiswick - From 05:00 until 11:30 on Saturday and Sunday, Chiswick High Road will be closed southbound between Chiswick roundabout and Wellesley Road. This is for urgent tree works.

Battersea - From 08:00 until 18:00 on Saturday and Sunday, roads in the Battersea Park area are expected to be busier than usual. This is due to an event.

Central London - From 04:00 until 19:00 on Sunday, Regent Street will be closed in both directions from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Street. This is for an event. There will be further closures on Sundays in July. For more information, please click here

Central London - From 11:00 until 14:00 on Tuesday, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall are expected to be busier than usual. This is for a march.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:
