Horniman Christmas Fair
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December
10.30am – 4.30pm


Enjoy a weekend of festive cheer. Buy creative gifts at our Christmas Markets, seasonal produce at our extended Farmers' Market (Saturday only until 4pm), make a reindeer in our craft workshops, have fun on a Christmas trail and more. On Sunday there will be local choirs singing popular festive songs - wrap up warm and sing along! See what stalls and activities are on.

Mark Fairnington Drawing Masterclass
Saturday 12 December
11am - 3pm


Join artist Mark Fairnington for an exclusive tour of his exhibition Collected and Possesed, followed by an interactive workshop where, under Mark's guidance, you'll explore how drawing can be used to examine specimens and objects from the Horniman collections. Find out more.

Charles Jamrach was one of Victorian London’s leading dealers in exotic animals. This small display explores his role and impact in the exotic animal trade, and how exotic animals came to be such a familiar sight in Britain.

A unique exhibition of paintings by artist Mark Fairnington, depicting the Horniman’s natural history specimens as they are stored behind the scenes and, displayed alongside some of the actual specimens themselves.
