In one of London’s favourite traditions, The Poetry Society and the Royal Norwegian Embassy are once again wrapping the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree in Poetry, to celebrate the City of Oslo’s annual gift to London.
Ian McMillan has written a new poem, ‘The Secret Song of the Tree’, inspired by poetry written by pupils from Westminster schools. This will be be displayed around the base of the tree for the remainder of the festive period.
The lighting up ceremony will include a reading of the poem by schoolchildren from St Clement Danes C Of E Primary School, the unveiling of the poem and lots more festive fun.
