For 310 years, Fortnum’s has been a hub of festivity and joy at Christmas time, celebrating with customers and friends from every corner of the world. This year, the iconic grocer welcomes one and all – whoever you are, wherever you’re from – with its returning campaign ‘Together We’re Merrier’.  Whilst last year’s creative execution focused on bringing together friends and foes to celebrate the yuletide, this year Fortnum’s showcases its belief that amazing things can happen when we all pull in the same direction.  It also pays tribute to the myriad helping hands that make Christmas possible and intends to remind guests and customers that the season is a time best done all together.

To illustrate this message, Fortnum’s has brought together a cast of many diverse characters starring in one continuous narrative of different key moments of the holiday from the popping of the champagne cork and dressing the tree, to the opening of an advent calendar. This tale appears across the eight iconic windows that stretch the Piccadilly façade.  Inanimate objects that have come to life and a menagerie of animals star in this rich tapestry, all in groups working together to make Christmas happen. A lion, ostrich and elephant are seen delivering the famous ‘F&M’ hampers via rocket ship to the ends of the earth (and an excited polar bear), whilst a never-ending feast table - where even the turkey is enjoying a tipple - nods to Fortnum’s long history in the very best food and drink.

The windows, for which the creative process began in January of this year, showcase hours of craftsmanship as each and every intricate character has been meticulously hand sculpted and painted by sculptors and make-up artists.

Londoners will also start to see a fleet of Fortnum’s taxis whizzing around in signature eau de nil transporting Christmas shoppers to and from the store.  The unveiling signals to the capital and beyond that Christmas has truly started.
