Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 2-3 December 2017




Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 2-3 December, and also the following week. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground



Circle line
Trains will not run between Baker Street and Hammersmith / High Street Kensington. This is to allow for new signal testing and track replacement work at Earl’s Court. Additionally, westbound Circle line trains will not stop at Moorgate station while we carry out Crossrail construction works.

District line
There will be no service between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington. This is while we test new signalling and carry out track replacement work at Earl’s Court. Additionally, there will be no service between Earl's Court and Kensington (Olympia) before 09:00 and after 21:00.

Hammersmith & City line
There will be no service between Baker Street and Hammersmith. This is while we test new signalling and carry out track replacement work at Earl’s Court. Additionally, westbound Hammersmith & City line trains will not stop at Moorgate station, while we carry out Crossrail construction works.

Metropolitan line
Westbound Metropolitan line trains will not stop at Moorgate station, while we carry out Crossrail construction works.

London Overground


All weekend there will be no trains between Willesden Junction and Camden Road due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

On Sunday there will be no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

From Monday 4 to Thursday 7 December, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town / Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) from 22:30. This is due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

Until Sunday 14 January 2018, trains will not run between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail continue major work to enable new, longer trains to run from spring 2018.

TfL Rail


On Saturday, trains will not run between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.





DLR


Until late December 2017, Custom House station will be closed and trains will not stop. This is due to Crossrail construction work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

South West London – Until April 2018, Chelsea Embankment will be closed to westbound traffic between Chelsea Bridge Road and Battersea Bridge. There will be a diversion via Chelsea Bridge Road, Lower Sloane Street and Sloane Street. This is due to Cadent Gas works.

Central London – Until 14:00 on 24 December, Moorgate will be closed to southbound traffic between the junctions of South Place and Lothbury with a diversion via South Place, Eldon Street, Blomfield Street London Wall, Aldersgate Street, St Martin's Le Grand, Cheapside, King Street, Gresham Street & Lothbury. This is for utility work.

Central London – From 08:00 on Saturday until 19:00 on Sunday 10 December, there will be weekend road closures in place at Horseferry Road at the junction of Greycoat Place, to enable resurfacing works. The closures will be from 08:00 until 17:00 Saturdays and 10:00 until 19:00 Sundays.

Hammersmith Flyover – From 00:01 until 05:00 on Wednesday 6 December, there will be an eastbound full closure and a westbound closure of lane 3. From 00:01 until 05:00 on Thursday 7 December, there will be a westbound full closure and an eastbound closure of lane 3. This is to facilitate essential overnight maintenance works.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
 South Quay West, Foley Street, Bourne Street, Cardinal Place and Portugal Street for building works
 Westfield Eastern Access Road, Sun Street, Montgomery Square and Dorset Square for site redevelopment
 Rodney Street due to works
 Serpentine Car Park due to relocation
