Did you know?
Marylebone was home to London's first ice rink on Dorset Square in 1841. It was composed of water, salts, sulphates and 'hog's lard' to make it more slippery! The test rink was followed up in 1844 with the 3,000ft Glaciarium at the Baker Street Bazaar on Portman Square, decorated with alpine scenery and with live music to skate to.
