New arrivals at Borough Market

 
In recent months, several exciting new stalls have arrived at Borough Market, bringing with them an satisfyingly diverse range of produce, from southeast Asian and Mexican staples to East Anglian smoked fish and east London bagels. We felt it was about time we introduced them properly:

Raya

From the team behind the Market’s Thai street food trader Khanom Krok, Raya celebrates the Bangkok roots of founder Worawan Kamann by importing the highest quality southeast Asian ingredients and store cupboard essentials, from wholegrain riceberry and mung bean flour to homemade curry pastes.

Shop Padre

Nicholas Fitzgerald’s Padre sells some of the best tacos outside of Mexico. Now, his Veracruz-style salsa macha is available to buy at a new Shop Padre stall, alongside his taco kits, guacachile, homemade chilli oils and a range of ingredients imported from Mexico.

Waveney Valley Smokehouse

Waveney Valley Smokehouse is one of the last remaining 18th century brick kiln smokehouses in Suffolk. Pairing highly traditional fish smoking techniques with the innovative use of technology, it produces kippers and bloaters as well as smoked salmon, herring and mackerel.

Moishe’s Bagelry & Bakery

Brought to Borough by the team that supplies the bread for Nana Fanny’s famed salt beef bagels, the new stall from Moishe’s Bagelry & Bakery, which has been baking Jewish staples since the 1930s, sells hand-tied bagels, challah bread and a range of sweet pastries.

Changarro

Changarro (meaning ‘little family-run store’ in Mexico) is headed up by husband-and-wife duo Greg and Natalie, who import authentic, ethically sourced Mexican store cupboard goods, including a range of dried and fresh chillies, salsas and corn tortillas.

Capreolus

Based in west Dorset, Karen and David Richards of Capreolus use high-quality meat – most of which is produced locally by small farmers — to make a wide range of charcuterie: from chorizo to smoked duck breast. Look out for the smoked pancetta, which won a Golden Fork in 2020.

Northfield Farm

Not really a new arrival – Northfield Farm has been at Borough for decades – but a significant addition to its offering: the stand now includes deli and pantry goods – from butter and bone broths to kimchi and sauerkraut – from the farm and other small producers.
