Happy Halloween from Whitechapel Gallery

Happy Halloween! You can celebrate holiday with paintings of forest trolls, eerie landscapes and nightmarish illustrations, all currently on view in This is the Night Mail, an artist-curated selection of works drawn from the Christen Sveaas Art Foundation.

Then conjure the sounds of the 1936 International Surrealist Exhibition through a playlist accompanying our current Archive show, Phantoms of Surrealism

If you're looking for something a little less spooky this half-term, look no further than a series of in-Gallery and online events for all ages. Upcoming sessions feature Ramon AmaroJasmin BhanjiTheaster GatesMagdalene Odundo DBE and the six artists shortlisted for the 2021 Jarman Award.

Stay tuned for further events and collaborations this autumn, including a special limited editions sale with Allied Editions and Frieze, and an exclusive exhibition tour with our longstanding partners at the Collezione Maramotti.
