It was the Bakerloo line which saw the birth of the first ever baby to be born on the London Underground in 1924. Daisy Hammond was on her way to Marylebone hospital when she went into labour near Elephant & Castle, and Chairman of the Underground Lord Ashfield agreed to be the baby’s Godfather!
