Festive Tunnel Walks

We're pleased to announce new dates for our popular Festive Tunnel Walks taking place on the following dates:

  • 17 December, 18.00 and 18.30
  • 28 December, 15.00, 15.30, 18.00 and 18.30

Walk through the unique network of tunnels under the city with expert guides who bring the history of Mail Rail to life with surprising stories about the staff who built, operated and maintained the underground railway over the course of 100 years. Then take a detour exploring a loop of the tunnels not usually accessible on the standard Tunnel Walk tour, with an unexpected festive past.

How did postcards of India first come to Britain during the so-called "postcard revolution" between 1898-1908? And what did they show of the vast sub-continent to British audiences? In this Zoom talk with Author Omar Khan attendees will get to explore beautiful postcards and learn how their development was driven by economic, social and media trends.
