NEW Summer Display: History of Make Up 💄 Express Yourself: Find Your Brand

Summer at the Museum
Express Yourself: Find Your Brand

This summer we are celebrating identity and culture through the brands we use and love. We encourage all visitors to express themselves and explore the brands which mean something to you!  Share your experiences with us, tagging #findyourbrand and @museumofbrands.

From 9 July, follow our discovery trails highlighting changes in fashion and gender identity over the years, a rainbow trail for the little ones, plus crafting and more.

From 1 August, visit our pop-up display for one month only and consider how make-up products have evolved throughout the last two centuries. The display will feature products that make-up artists and the general public have used over the years, both professionally and personally.

Britain's Top 100 Brands

Discover Britain's Top 100 Brands of 2021 in our updated display.  It is formed around Britain’s Biggest Brands, The Grocer’s annual list, developed in association with NielsenIQ.  Brits thankfully stopped stockpiling loo-roll, evening out sales for brands such as Andrex but, as you will see, our love of junk food remains prominent as Cadburys keeps the top spot. More info and tickets here

Summer Crafts
This summer we have planned a series of craft activities, encouraging young people to think about brands and how they can express themselves. Changing every two weeks these include: Design Yourself as a Toy, Face Painting (Saturdays in August only), Paper Doll Dress Up and Create Your Favourite Make-up Looks. Click here for more information.

Community Days
Next Dates: Friday 15 July, Sunday 24 July

We are launching our Community and Carer Days as part of Living Brands, offering free admission to carers twice a month. We are participating in the North Central London Clinical Commissioning sponsored Activity Matters Forum with the Wildlife Trust and the Royal National Institute for the Blind to discuss how heritage venues can improve visitor wellbeing.
