Reassuringly Drinkable: Classic Beer Advertising with Pete...

Join beer
writer and advertising guru Pete Brown at the Museum of Brands on the 15th
May for an evening talk on classic beer advertising. As part of Museums at
Night, Pete will present and discuss a show reel of cleverly crafted adverts,
examining how big breweries have us reaching for their particular tipple.

Beer Writer
of the Year 2009 and 2012, Pete certainly knows his topic. He’s written five
books on beer and cider and worked with Stella Artois to craft their Reassuringly Expensive Campaign.

And of
course, we’re not just talking beer - there’s a well stocked cash-bar as well.

And the
Museum will be open to ticket-holders as part of the event. Remember Watney’s
Party Seven? ‘Guinness is Good For You’ posters? Even the Alcopops of the 1990s
can be rediscovered. With over 12,000 items from the Victorian period up to the
modern day, discover the amazing consumer story we are all a part of. With all
the alcohol on display, perhaps recall some rather hazy memories along the way.

This is a ticketed event and is part
of Culture 24’s Museums at Night
