Transport for London - Weekend travel information this weekend, 10/11 October. 2015

weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 10/11 October. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

District line
Trains will not run between Aldgate East and Dagenham East all weekend. On Sunday, there will also be no service between Turnham Green and Richmond. This is due to track and drainage replacement work at Mile End, Crossrail work at Whitechapel and preparing the Richmond branch for longer trains.

Hammersmith & City line
There will be no service between Liverpool Street and Barking. This is due to track and drainage replacement work at Mile End, station improvement work at Stepney Green and Crossrail work at Whitechapel.

Northern line
On Sunday, Belsize Park will be closed due to station improvement work.




London Overground


All weekend there will be no service between Highbury & Islington and Shadwell, and also between Surrey Quays and New Cross. This is due to Highbury Corner work and Crossrail at Whitechapel.
 
On Sunday, trains will not run between the following stations:
 Richmond and Willesden Junction (to enable Network Rail track work)
 Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction until 10:00 (to enable Network Rail track work)
 Gospel Oak and Barking (to enable preparatory work for line electrification)





TfL Rail


On Sunday, there will be no service between Seven Kings and Shenfield, due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

London Trams


Trams will not run between Wimbledon and Dundonald Road until the end of this month, while we construct an additional platform at Wimbledon.





Buses


Neasden - From 22:00 Saturday 10 October until Monday 7 December, there will be various overnight closures and lane restrictions between Staples Corner and Harrow Road. Daytime lane restrictions will also be in place between Brentfield Road and Neasden Lane, in both directions. This is due to Road Modernisation works. Roads in and around Neasden and Wembley will be busier than usual and delays are expected between Hanger Lane and Brent Cross. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination. For more information, please click here

Wembley - From 16:45 tomorrow, Friday, the A406, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads surrounding the stadium are expected to be busy. This is due to an event. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Twickenham - From 13:45 on Saturday, certain roads will be closed, including the A316 Chertsey Road between London Road and Hospital Bridge Road. This is due to Rugby World Cup 2015. Roads will be re-opened when it is safe to do so after the match has finished. Increased traffic in the area is expected for up to three hours following the end of the match. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination. For more information, please click here

Central London - From 05:00 until 13:00 on Sunday, a number of key roads will be closed to traffic including Strand, Trafalgar Square, Pall Mall East and Whitehall. This is due to an event. South Lambeth - The A203 Stockwell Road at the junction of South Lambeth Road and Clapham Road will have lane restrictions in place until Wednesday 31 August 2016. This is due to major junction remodelling works. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.
