The UK Buster Keaton Society. Quarterly meeting of the society dedicated to the appreciation of the silent comedian.
Plans are to show an Educational Pictures short and a Columbia short in the first half, and the third and final episode of Kevin Brownlow and David Gill’s documentary Buster Keaton: A Hard Act to Follow in the second half.

Free entry to Members.  £10 annual membership available on the door.
Kennington Talkies presents; The Lady Eve (1941) Sunday 23rd July @ 2:30pm
The Lady Eve is a 1941 American screwball comedy film written and directed by Preston Sturges which stars Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda.
It’s no accident when wealthy Charles (Fonda) falls for Jean (Stanwyck). Jean is a con artist with her sights set on Charles’ fortune. Matters complicate when Jean starts falling for her mark. When Charles suspects Jean is a gold digger, he dumps her. Jean, fixated on revenge and still pining for the millionaire, devises a plan to get back in Charles’ life. With love and payback on her mind, she reintroduces herself to Charles, this time as an aristocrat named Lady Eve Sidwich.

Raymond Austin: My Name on My Chair Tuesday 25th July @ 7:30pm
The Baron of Delvin, Raymond DeVere-Austin, aka Raymond or Ray Austin, is a distinguished director, producer, screenwriter and novelist, best known for his prolific work on many British and American television programmes.

Born in London and educated at Brighton College, Austin made his U.S. feature film debut as a stunt man/bit player in Spartacus (1960), and also appeared in episodes of action television shows such as Highway Patrol (1955-59), Peter Gunn (1958-61) and Have Gun – Will Travel (1957–63).

Raymond will be talking about his varied career and work as a stunt co-ordinator and director, illustrated with clips. Find out more here

Kennington Talkies Presents; It's Love I'm After Sunday 30th July @ 2:30pm
It’s Love I’m After is a 1937 American comedy film directed by Archie Mayo and starring Leslie Howard, Bette Davis, and Olivia de Havilland.
Despite constant bickering on and off stage, Shakespearean actors Basil Underwood (Howard) and Joyce Arden (Davis) intend to marry after their closing performance in Romeo and Juliet. But following the show, debutante Marcia West (de Havilland), smitten by Basil’s interpretation of Romeo, visits backstage to declare him the perfect man for her. Basil is initially flattered by her attentions, which enrages Joyce – until they both find Marcia more than they can handle.
