Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 19 -20 May 2018

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 19 -20 May, and also the following week. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but to ensure your journey goes smoothly please check if any of the following affect you.



Royal wedding

If you are planning to travel from London to Windsor on Saturday 19 May, please plan ahead. Train services from London to Windsor are likely to be extremely busy, with queuing systems in place at key stations and interchanges, including Paddington and Waterloo. Windsor is expected to be very busy. If you are driving, book your pre-paid car parking spaces in advance and get there early.





London Underground



Bakerloo line
On Sunday 20 May, there will be no service between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone, due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, there will be:

Circle line
No service between Aldgate and Edgware Road (via Embankment)

District line
No service between:
South Kensington/Edgware Road and Ealing Broadway/Richmond/Wimbledon
Earl’s Court and Kensington (Olympia)
Due to ballast and track replacement, and renewal of track drainage.

London Overground


On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, there will be no service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction, due to Network Rail infrastructure work and Earls Court development work.
On Sunday 20 May, there will be no service between:
Watford Junction and Euston all day, due to Network Rail infrastructure work
Surrey Quays and New Cross after 20:45, due to Crossrail construction work
Sydenham and Crystal Palace from 20:45 until 23:15, due to Crossrail construction work
Highbury & Islington and Shadwell after 21:15, due to Crossrail construction work
From Monday 21 to Thursday 24 May, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:45, due to Network Rail track work.

DLR


On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, there will be no service between Canary Wharf and Stratford, due to track work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

Central London - From 05:00 today, Thursday 17 May, until 23:59 on Tuesday 22 May, Whitehall and Parliament Street between Horse Guards Avenue and Bridge Street (Parliament Square) will be closed, due to utility works.

Southwark - From 22:00 on Friday 18 May until 05:00 on Monday 21 May, Blackfriars Road (all directions) at the junction of St George’s Circus will be closed, due to crane operation.

Westminster - From 00:01 on Saturday 19 May until 22:00 on Sunday 27 May, on weekends only during these hours, Victoria Street (both directions) will be closed between Bressenden Place and Buckingham Gate, due to crane operation.

Westminster - From 09:00 on Saturday 19 May until 18:00 on Sunday 20 May, Charing Cross Road (both directions) will be closed at the junction of Denmark Street, due to utility works.

Wembley - From 15:00 until 21:00 on Saturday 19 May, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is for an event.

Horse Guards Road - From 15:00 until 21:00 on Sunday 20 May, Horse Guards Road (all directions) will be closed, due to a ceremonial event.

Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Hansard Mews and Battersea Church Road, due to UKPN works and outage
Peterborough Road and Poured Lines, due to utility works
South Lambeth Road, due to footway works
Thessaly Road North and Serpentine Car Park, due to site relocation
Montgomery Square and Westfield Eastern Access Road, due to site redevelopment
Horse Guards Avenue, due to road resurfacing works
Calshot Street, Kings Cross, due to utility works
South Lambeth Road, Lambeth, due to restricted footway space
