Project O present a new video artwork considering Somerset House’s historical connection to the British Royal Navy.
For eighty years from the end of the eighteenth century the Navy’s administrative offices occupied the building. In this new commission by Somerset House Studios, the first in a series of works exploring the subject, Project O asks questions about choice, inevitability, movement, defiance and surrender that arise in relation to water - will the waves always rule us?
Open House London is the capital's largest annual weekend festival of architecture and design. Join us for two days of special tours and the chance to explore the secret parts of our building usually hidden from public view.
