Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 10 and 11 November, and the following week.
Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but please check if any of the following affect you. | |

Beyond the Deepening Shadow: The Tower Remembers |

Until Sunday 11 November, large pedestrian numbers are expected at Tower of London each day between 17:00 and 22:00. Tower Hill station will be extremely busy during the event.
|
Anyone attending the event might find it easier to use the following stations, which are all around a 10 to 15 minute walk away: |
| • | Aldgate East via the District line and Hammersmith & City line |
| • | Aldgate via the Metropolitan line and Circle line |
| • | Monument via the District line and Circle line |
| • | London Bridge via the Jubilee line, Northern line and National Rail lines |
| • | Tower Gateway via DLR |

There are no planned closures on the Overground this Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but Network Rail will be carrying out track work either side of the weekend.
Tonight, Thursday 8 November, there will be no service between Sydenham and West Croydon after 22:15. Use Southern Railway trains between Sydenham and Norwood Junction. Rail replacement buses will run between Norwood Junction and West Croydon.
On Monday 12 November, there will be no service between Romford and Upminster after 20:00. Use local bus routes 165, 248 or 370.

Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:
Stonebridge – Until 21:15 tonight, Thursday 8 November, Brentfield Road will be closed on an ad-hoc basis. There will be increased traffic levels and pedestrian numbers in the area. Local bus routes 206 and 224 will be diverted. This is due to an event.
City of London – From 07:00 until 17:00 on Saturday 10 November, there will be extensive road closures from Bishopsgate in the east, Old Street in the north, Aldwych in the west and Victoria Embankment in the south. Blackfriars Bridge will also be closed. From 07:00, roads within the City of London will close. From 09:00, all remaining closures will be in place including Blackfriars Bridge, Victoria Embankment and Blackfriars underpass. All closures will be removed in stages between 16:00 and 17:00. This is due to an event.
Kensington – From 07:00 until 23:59 on Saturday 10 November, Kensington Road will be closed in both directions between Exhibition Road and Queen’s Gate. Prince Consort Road will also be closed. This is due to an event for Remembrance Day at Royal Albert Hall.
Twickenham Rugby Stadium – From 12:00 until 19:00 on Saturday 10 November, large pedestrian numbers and increased traffic levels are expected in the Twickenham area for the rugby match between England and New Zealand. Roads likely to be affected are the A316 Chertsey Road, and all roads leading to Twickenham Stadium and around the stadium. London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed before and after the game to help with crowd control. Diversions will be implemented in the Twickenham area.
Westminster – From 01:00 until 20:00 on Sunday 11 November, the following roads will be closed. From 01:00; Great Scotland Yard, Whitehall Place, Horse Guards Avenue and Richmond Terrace. From 03:00; Whitehall / Parliament Street. From 04:00; Parliament Square, Bridge Street, Broad Sanctuary, Great George Street and St Margaret’s / Abingdon Street. From 08:00; Millbank, Marsham Street, Victoria Street between Artillery Row and Great Smith Street and all roads within St James’s Park. Traffic will be held temporarily between 10:15 and 11:05 at Hyde Park Corner and its approaches, Victoria Embankment and Westminster Bridge. All roads will be reopened when the police deem it safe to do so. This is due to an event for Remembrance Day.
City of London – From 10:00 until 12:30 on Sunday 11 November, there will be a series of road closures in the City of London area, including New Change, Bank Junction, Mansion House and Walbrook / Bucklersbury. This is due to a parade for Remembrance Day.
Holborn – From 10:00 until 12:30, there will be a series of road closures between the Royal Fusiliers War Memorial and St Sepulchre’s Church at Holborn Viaduct. This is due to an event for Remembrance Day.
Westminster – From 03:00 on Monday 12 November until 20:00 on Friday 14 December, Westminster Bridge will be closed to all westbound traffic, except buses and cyclists. Bridge Street will be fully closed to all traffic except cyclists. This is due to Westminster City Council highway improvement works on Bridge Street.

Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:
Rotherhithe Tunnel – There are increased restrictions for goods vehicles at Rotherhithe Tunnel. The maximum vehicle height is 2 metres and the weight limit is 2 tonnes. The width restriction is 2 metres (or 6’6”). Drivers of goods vehicles should use Tower Bridge or Blackwall Tunnel, both of which are outside the Congestion Charging zone. Santander Cycles will provide a useful way to navigate the planned closures on the Tube this weekend, but the following docking stations will be out of service: |

| • | Bayswater Road, Hyde Park, due to power failure |
| • | Wells Street, Fitzrovia, due to telecom works |
| • | Hinde Street, Marylebone, due to ducting work |
| • | Kensington Gore, Knightsbridge, due to a Remembrance event (Saturday only) |
| • | Holborn Circus, New Fetter Lane, Holborn, due to a Remembrance service (Saturday only) |
