Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 13/14 February 2016

weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 13/14 February. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

Tube strike update
The planned strike by the RMT union for tomorrow, which involved maintenance workers, has been suspended. A separate strike by the RMT which involves 500 track workers may still happen, however this is not expected to have any customer impact and Tube services will run as normal. London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
There will be no service on the entire line. This is to allow us to carry out track, drainage and Crossrail work between Farringdon and Liverpool Street.

District line
Trains will not run between Tower Hill and Upminster while we carry out track and drainage replacement work at Barking and Hornchurch, as well as Crossrail work at Whitechapel.

Hammersmith & City line
There will be no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking. This is to allow us to carry out track and drainage replacement work between Farringdon and Liverpool Street as well as Crossrail work at Liverpool Street and Whitechapel.

Metropolitan line
Trains will not run between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Aldgate while we carry out track, drainage and Crossrail work between Farringdon and Liverpool Street.




London Overground


There will be no service between Romford and Upminster, due to Crossrail and Network Rail infrastructure work.
 
From Saturday to Friday 19 February, trains will not run between the following stations, due to Crossrail work at Whitechapel:
 Highbury & Islington and Shadwell
 Surrey Quays and New Cross
 
On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations:
 Gospel Oak and Barking until 12:00, due to preparing the line for electrification
 Richmond and Willesden Junction, due to Network Rail track work

TfL Rail


Trains will not run between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. This is due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

Northwest London - Until early March, Watford Way has overnight lane restrictions and closures in both directions, at the junction of Queen’s Road and Vivian Avenue. This is due to resurfacing works.

Central London - Until 20:00 on Monday 15 February, road closures and lane restrictions are in place at various times in Central London. Affected roads include Catherine Street, Bow Street and Tavistock Street. This is due to an event.

Central London - On Saturday from midnight until 05:00, Waterloo Bridge will be closed southbound and will have northbound lane restrictions. This is due to Westminster City Council works.

Central London - From 08:00 on Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday, Ludgate Circus will be closed eastbound due to roadworks.

Central London - From 07:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, road closures will be in place at various times in Central London. Affected roads include Charing Cross Road, Shaftesbury Avenue and High Holborn. This is due to an event. For full details, please visit tfl.gov.uk/weekend-travel

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:
